McCourtneys make transformative gift to endow Institute for Democracy

Penn State 2013 Philanthropists of the Year Tracy and Ted McCourtney endowed the Penn State Institute for Democracy with a transformative gift of $3 million that will enable the institute to pursue excellence in advancing the cause of democracy. The Institute has been renamed The McCourtney Institute for Democracy.

Jinnie and John Chapel make $1 million gift for executive internship program

Penn State alumna Virginia 'Jinnie' Todd Chapel and her husband, John, created the Virginia Todd Chapel Executive Internship Program to support premium internships in the private sector for hard-working students. When fully funded, the program will provide $5,000 internship awards to nearly 20 students each year, under the direction of the Career Enrichment Network.

Larry and Lynne Brown make leadership gift to endow Democracy Medal February 24, 2014

Alumni Larry and Lynne Brown endowed a new Democracy Medal that recognizes an outstanding individual, organization, or a group of individuals for exceptional innovation in the advancement of democracy in the United States or around the world.
